“I spent my life folded between the pages of books.In the absence of human relationships I formed bonds with paper characters. I lived love and loss through stories threaded in history; I experienced adolescence by association. My world is one interwoven web of words, stringing limb to limb, bone to sinew, thoughts and images all together. I am a being comprised of letters, a character created by sentences, a figment of imagination formed through fiction.”

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

Well I would like to take a moment to review The Mortal Instruments as a SERIES because I know each book might have been given some reviews that may suddgest I didn't like the series as much...but let me tell you, this is a special case because each book has flaws and reasons why is might have been rated what it was, but the WORLD is flawless...so I'd like to rate the series/world as a whole.

Here is each book and their description:

Book 1

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Book 2

City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2)Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

In this breathtaking sequel to City of Bones, Cassandra Clare lures her readers back into the dark grip of New York City's Downworld, where love is never safe and power becomes the deadliest temptation.

Book 3

City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3)To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City - whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times bestselling trilogy The Mortal Instruments.

Book 4

City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4)The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And - most importantly of all - she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second bloody war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her. His mother just found out that he's a vampire and now he's homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side - along with the power of the curse that's wrecking his life. And they're willing to do anything to get what they want. At the same time he's dating two beautiful, dangerous girls - neither of whom knows about the other one.

When Jace begins to pull away from Clary without explaining why, she is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: She herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

Book 5

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5)The demon Lilith has been destroyed and Jace has been freed from her captivity. But when the Shadowhunters arrive to rescue him, they find only blood and broken glass. Not only is the boy Clary loves missing–but so is the boy she hates, Sebastian, the son of her father Valentine: a son determined to succeed where their father failed, and bring the Shadowhunters to their knees.

No magic the Clave can summon can locate either boy, but Jace cannot stay away—not from Clary. When they meet again Clary discovers the horror Lilith’s dying magic has wrought—Jace is no longer the boy she loved. He and Sebastian are now bound to each other, and Jace has become what he most feared: a true servant of Valentine’s evil. The Clave is determined to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. Will the Shadowhunters hesitate to kill one of their own?

Only a small band of Clary and Jace’s friends and family believe that Jace can still be saved — and that the fate of the Shadowhunters’ future may hinge on that salvation. They must defy the Clave and strike out on their own. Alec, Magnus, Simon and Isabelle must work together to save Jace: bargaining with the sinister Faerie Queen, contemplating deals with demons, and turning at last to the Iron Sisters, the reclusive and merciless weapons makers for the Shadowhunters, who tell them that no weapon on this earth can sever the bond between Sebastian and Jace. Their only chance of cutting Jace free is to challenge Heaven and Hell — a risk that could claim any, or all, of their lives.

And they must do it without Clary. For Clary has gone into the heart of darkness, to play a dangerous game utterly alone. The price of losing the game is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she even still trust him? Or is he truly lost? What price is too high to pay, even for love?

Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

Book 6

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)In Book 6: City of Heavenly Fire, Jace, Clary and their friends are drawn inexorably into a war that pits Heaven against Hell, angels against demons—a war that threatens to destroy our world entirely if the Shadowhunters can't end it first.

**I am leaving this cover big because if you look on the bottom it says....THE COVER WILL BE REVEALED WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT....like WOAHHH. DUDE. NOT COOL.** When do you think "least expect it" means? The trailer/commercials that go on just before the movie? That could be cool....you know...like just sitting there waiting for COB to start and then like COVER REVEAL! *screams erupt* yeah...I could go with that...

anyway.

My rating for this AMAZING series is:

DRUM ROLL PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

YEP! That's right...this is a SPECIAL 6 STARS!!! Why you say? Well:

The world is extremely addictive. Shadowhunters may think they are better than everyone else but...well they are pretty spectacular. I LOVE the characters too. I could spend HOURS with them! I really really really really love the way Cassandra writes her books. It proves to annoy the heck out of me with it's cliff hanger-ness....switching character perspectives RIGHT when the good stuff starts happening. Keeps me in suspense. I highly urge you to try out this series! How does one series take the win on The YA Sisterhood crush/heroine tourneys two years in a row and not be the LEAST bit good? This series is wonderful:

 "Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end".

You won't regret it!!

Quotes Today

Stupid name, I know...but this is probably a one time thing...and there is probably someone out there who already came up with a similar meme. In a way this is kind of like Picture This....but like "Quote This" same idea....but with quotes.

Maybe you don't know what Picture This is...so I will explain.

Picture This is a collection of pictures you've stumbles upon during the week and really enjoyed, all crammed into one cute little post. So therefore this post is the same thing...but with quotes...instead of pictures.

Here is one I found today and I find it hilarious. Sorry to all you book partialists out there...but Jane said it..not me.

“The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.”
― Jane Austen

I love her sass! :)

“Classic' - a book which people praise and don't read.”
― Mark Twain

hmmm...Mark of all people to say it...makes me love it even more. Someone should show this to my mom....or past teachers.

“There is no friend as loyal as a book.”
― Ernest Hemingway

This is 110% true. No matter how many times you read it it doesn't change....and whenever something I can't handle comes to me, I read. I don't know the kind of person I would be without books. Probably bitter and grumpy. Which brings me to another quote.

When I am attacked by gloomy thoughts, nothing helps me so much as running to my books. They quickly absorb me and banish the clouds from my mind.
— Michel de Montaigne

Yes. This is what I mean.

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.”
― J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

How much do I love these people? So so so much...who could get it more right than those just like you. As I refer to it your "brand of people" I could not live without them....as I've only recently discovered that such people exist. Where have you been all my life? I honestly don't know how I missed it.

“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”
― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

I would be clearly miserable.

Tidbit Thursday: Top Ten characters to switch places with

ħεϓ ĢƲϓȘ! ⓘⓣⓢ Ⓚⓐⓘⓣ✿!!!!!!
ヘ(^_^ヘ) (ノ^_^)ノ

I just really love those dancing things!!

Ok so today is Tidbit Thursday, todays question is:

Top Ten characters you would like to switch places with for a day.

Pretty cool. Ok here we go:

................................................................................................................................
Kait

  1. Jace or Clary from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. Because I wouldn't mind being a freaking awesome Shadowhunter! And a really funny sacrastic one at that. (but I would probably be Clary because then Jace would be my bf)
  2. Kate from The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter...because hellooooo....HENRY. And Kate is one of my favorite female protagonist because she is the least whiny and she is smart...logical. Reacts like I would I would say...so I wouldn't mind being her one bit.
  3. Cammie Morgan (or Kat....really anyone from any of Ally Carters books) from The Gallagher Girls Series (or Heist Society) by Ally Carter because Cammie is a SPY for goodness sake! (or Kat a thief) and they both are so stelth and really good at what they do. Who wouldn't want to inheret there skills if just for one day? And come on...they've both got SUPER hot boyfriends...really.
  4. Bryn (or Calla from Nightshade by Andrea Cremer) from Raised by Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes because she's a WEREWOLF! Ahhhh! I would want to be a werewolf SOO BAD! A day wouldn't be enough! Sign me up for eternity! (even that is too little!)
  5. Kali from Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes because she is also a demon hunter, like Jace and Clary, only she can't die very easily and she is human every other day! Plus who wouldn't want a super cute/mysterious guy named Zev in your head??
  6. Wanda from The Host by Stephanie Meyer because Wanda is loved so much by her humans and I would want to try being in the same body as Mel....so cool! I love Mel!
  7. Melody from Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper because I want to know how it would be like for Melody to speak and get around and deal with people who don't understand her. I think she would be the perfect person to see through.
  8. Tally from Uglies by Scott Westerfeld if not just to be in the Ugly/Pretty/Special world.
  9. Annabeth from The Lightening Theif Series she's just so smart and she goes on quests with PERCY!!!
  10. Katniss from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins...no I do not mean being in The Hunger Games, but I'm talking about the fact that Katniss is so strong...and I would get to spend the day with Peeta and Gale! And I love these characters so much, meeting them and hanging out and stuff would be worth entering Panem ;
What's your top ten?

...................................................................................................................................
Mari

1. Cammie - who doesn't want to be a spy at some point?
2.Isabelle- she is just hilarious and she has great style.
3.Calla- she is sooo kick butt!!!
4. Kat- currently reading her series and she is just awesome!
5. Melanie- so strong and independent!
6. Tris/ Beatrice- so amazing plus FOUR!
7. Nikki- she is amazing and really smart.
8. Wanda- she is really nice and awesome.
9. Hermione- she is a wizard!!!!!!!!!
10. Prim- she has an awesome older sister and she doesn't go in the hunger games.

Teaser Tuesday: The Goddess Legacy by Aimee Carter

It's TEASER TUESDAY...well...no, it's not...but I'm so confused/tired this week that I thought yesterday was Monday....so, sorry I didn't post it then. But here it is now!

Teaser Tuesday's is a weekly meme hosted by Miz B of Should Be Reading and asks you to :

1. Grab your current read

2. Open to a random page

3 . Share 2 "teaser" sentences also citing the title of the book and the author and in that way people can have great recommendations if they like the "teaser".

4. Please avoid spoilers!

The Goddess Legacy (Goddess Test, #2.5)For millennia we've caught only glimpses of the lives and loves of the gods and goddesses on Olympus. Now Aimée Carter pulls back the curtain on how they became the powerful, petty, loving and dangerous immortals that Kate Winters knows.

Calliope/Hera represented constancy and yet had a husband who never matched her faithfulness….

Ava/Aphrodite was the goddess of love and yet commitment was a totally different deal….

Persephone was urged to marry one man, yet longed for another….

James/Hermes loved to make trouble for others—but never knew true loss before….

Henry/Hades's solitary existence had grown too wearisome to continue. But meeting Kate Winters gave him a new hope….

...................................................................................................................................

First, I've got to say I really love this book. I'm getting all new looks at the characters and seeing them COMPLETELY differently. It's worth the read if you really love The Goddess Test series.

Here's my teaser:

~~~~~~~~
"Katherine Winters was born on a sunny September morning mere weeks before the autumnal equinox. And as soon as he received news of her birth, Henry retreated to the Underworld for the next several years, hiding himself away from the knowledge that her death would inevitably be on his hands, as well."
~~~~~~~~

There isn't many quotes in this book that are non-teaser-ful so just trust that this book is worth the read. You won't regret the new look it will give you.

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3)City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
Summary from: goodreads.com

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City - whatever the cost?

...................................................................................................................................

This book has to be by FAR my favorite! Yep! so this is my rating:

Well now you can ask, Why is it your favorite? Let's break it down:

What worked:

Well Clary is SOO strong with her runes now that she can do stuff she probably shouldn't be able to do...which makes Jace so dang worried about her. (OMG SO CUTE!) so naturally he doesn't want her to go to Idris. So this was a big "problem" you could say in the beginning...naturally what does Clary do? Well she goes anyway. I love that side of Clary, how Cassandra really made that prominent and how it's Clary's main characteristic...makes you want to say...well Jace is right...but well..Jace is wrong. At the same time.

Idris. That place is BEAUTIFUL! WOAHHHH! I want to GOOOOOOOO! Cassandra really made it seem a-maz-ing! And I'm glad it wasn't poorly written to the point where it seemed false. It was done very well, logically there is no electricity in Idris because it messes with their magic...I don't know why it surprised me, but it did a little..

The order of events in the book were awesome. There was no part where I could say "ughh...please switch point of views so I can go ON WITH MY LIFE" because sometimes that happens to me with Cassandra's books, but in this one everyone had an interesting series of events going down and it wasn't terrible when Cassandra switched the point of views. Some of the events are surprising...only predictable right before...when it's too late and they are practically already telling you the plot twist.Don't you hate when something dawns on you right before they explain it...and you're like "wow...took me a while." ?

What didn't work:

Clary's mom didn't work for me...honestly...like when is she gonna wake up? How is she going to react to Clary being Shadowhunter-y....wasn't looking forward to that part of the book. (*see spoiler-y discussion for more on this)

Some of the characters actions didn't make sense...sometimes. One character I didn't care for would be Aline Penhallow. She was really naive. She was really bellow the whole Shadowhunting business, a complete coward. She couldn't see something that was right in front of her...even if it hit her in the face....one more occasions then one.

Now for the spoiler-y discussion:

.............................................................................................................................

Highlight between the brackets to view spoilers:

{ Hmmmm...where to begin...ok how about here:

JACE AND CLARY ARE NOT BROTHER AND SISTER! WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Could anything make me happier at the moment? I think NOT! ヘ(^_^ヘ) (ノ^_^)ノ *HAPPY DANCEEEEEEE*

eh-hem. moving on.......

The whole Sebastian thing just kind of got under my skin....How could Aline not recognize her own cousin? Even if she hadn't seen him in a long time....wouldn't he at least look a bit off....assuming Sebastian looks nothing like "Jonathon"

 So the part when Jace yells at Clary...well ok
 JACE IF I WERE TO EVER PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE IT WOULD BE NOWimage

....cause seriously. But I totally understand what he was doing and well....it felt like HE was slapping ME in the face. (or Clary)

But the part RIGHT BEFORE JACE LEFT AND THEY JUST SLEPT HOLDING HANDS.....WELL I MIGHT DIE.

Anyone have anything they REALLY WANT TO SAY? Leave a comment! }

So to you people who can't read the spoilers...I bet that gif right there is getting on your nerves...you're like "WHAT ON EARTH COULD THAT BE REFERENCING?!!??!?!?!?!!!!" Heehee...plain torture isn't it? Guess you got to read the book! Now go!!! What are you still doing here? Go get that book....well I suppose you would have to start with the first one....so check out the reviews for the first two books and it will make you want to read the series even more! Picture This #6

"This meme was originally called Daily Dose and it was hosted by Good Golly Miss Holly, but she stopped doing it. Picture This is a meme where I feature Lovely Pictures I find Between here and there and it's featured on Mondays :)" Hosted by Jude over at In Between

(but are not going to be doing it on Mondays....just randomly when we find super awesome pictures)

So I don't have a lot of pictures today but here are some:

Lol...write a book about it. Genius-ness.

 Oh my goodness! Do you SEE that?

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Hey guys! Here is a long long long long long long long overdue review of City of Bones so I'm gonna keep it short and sweet. (oooh and also—I almost forgot!!—Happy FIRST DAY OF FILMING for the City of Bones movie! Yep, they started a couple hours ago! I'm SOOO excited! Yay!!)

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Summary from: goodreads.com

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons.

The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

...........................................................................................................................

Hey guys, so let's start with, I love this series. It's all I could think about this month. Like some of the professional reviews say "it's ferociously entertaining" which I find so so so so so true! There are fabulous plot twists and action scenes. It's a strongly constructed world that I would love to live in (for at least 24 hours)

Here is my rating:

I really really loved this book, it's just not my favorite in the series. Because I love this series SOOOO much I'm actually going to do on JUST the series itself as well, not just the individual books (although We're doing those as well....if you haven't seen Mari's review of City of Ashes —I know! We're so bad, going out of order!!— you can see it right here )

What worked:

Well....Clary's transition into the world worked very well. It was smooth, it made sense, it was funny/scary/exciting all at the same time. Everything made sense and I was pleased.

Simon was super cute and had a lot of nerdy characteristics, and he was overall just her really best friend and I think Clary really needed that and it held her together almost.

Every surprise was genuinely a surprise and every plot twist always helped the book, never killed it.

What didn't work:

What I probably didn't like was how slow it had been moving with Clary and Jace. I kept saying "well MAKE A MOVE ALREADY!" and I couldn't understand why everyone loved Jace so much if he and Clary were always so awkward together. Let me tell you, READ ON MY FRIENDS! Keep going because YOU WILL GET THERE!

I think the reason I gave this book 3 stars wasn't because of something it had...but of something it didn't. But I do not regret finishing it and continuing the series because what it was lacking piled on tenfold in the next books. I would read this book again, if not only to re-live it but to see some truths behind scenes that you won't understand until later books.

All that's left to say is read the series. Because as a whole it is BEAUTIFUL!

............................................................................................................................

Here's the Spoiler-y discussion:

Highlight between the brackets to view spoilers:

{ There isn't much to say here really. The only thing I would make a big deal about would be this:

JACE AND CLARY AND BROTHER AND SISTER OH MY GOSH CASSANDRA CLARE I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND PERSONALLY MAKE YOU PAY FOR WHAT THESE SEVEN WORDS HAVE DONE TO MY HEART!!!!! but I'm not going to say that.....and before you get all bent out of shape saying "WAIT NOOo!" wait one moment.

***Spoiler alert. If you have not read City of Glass do not read this***

That is what I WOULD have said, had I not written this review AFTER I finished the series...trust me, I planned on a full rant but I'm glad I didn't because it just would have made me look stupid. So don't worry, I no longer plan on seeking out Cassandra...:) besides the obvious "CAN YOU PLEASE SIGN MY BOOK?!?!?!!!" but yeah, what were your reactions to the end of this book when you first read it?

***End of Spoilers*** }

So if you guys want to talk about anything about this book in the comments, PLEASE leave a comment! We would love it and it would really add to this lacking Spoiler-y discussion. So if there's anything nagging at your mind saying I MUST SPEAK TO SOMEONE ABOUT THIS! Don't ignore the voice!!! Give in! Leave a comment! It's much appreciated!!

but do remember....(especially if your going to bring up things from books 2, 3, 4, or 5):

*NEWS/Tidbit Thursday: Blogging, what do you do for winter/school months?

Hey guys!!!! Well it's Kait....I'm here delivering important news disguised as a Tidbit Thursday.

So here is the question:

What do you do (blogging wise) for winter/school months?

.......................................................................................................................................
Kait

Great question. I'm going to be the only one to answer this today because there is only so much you can say.

Well this year is going to be a little different. Last school year we blogged without change....but then again that's when we started and since summer began, we have added more memes.

So this year we will be taking away some memes and they are henceforth declared "summer memes". Sorry guys. It makes the blog way more manageable and it will be better for you because we will be frequent rather than spotty and rarely posting.

Here is what will be taken away:

  • Random Question Monday: We will be doing this as a summer meme only. :( but you guys can still send in all the questions you want! We will just be collecting a depot of questions, so feel free to spam us with them!

  • Waiting on Wednesday: This one will be only put into semi-retirement because it is not so frequent that we have a ton of books yet to come out that we can talk about every week....we tend to hear about a bunch of them all at once so this is more difficult in terms of a "weekly" meme...it may still be "monthly" for us during the winter because I'm sure we will hear about SOME new release that we will have to tell y'all about!
So just to clear everything up, here is what we WILL have:

  •  Teaser Tuesday: this is always a fun one, so be prepared for lots of this!

  • Tidbit Thursday: yes, this one will be kept, we love to answer book-y things! :D

  • The Hunger Games Discussion Saturdays: You can never have too much Hunger Games!
All reviews will be normal (nothing will effect those!)

But remember this is JUST for the WINTER! All memes (and possibly more) will be back up and running as soon as summer rolls back around.

Enjoy the school year! (So sad to see summer go!! It went by too fast)

Waiting on Wednesday: City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Hey it's Waiting on Wednesday! Yay!

I'm super excited for something but I'm freaking out because it isn't coming out until 2014!!!!!!!

Another book in the TMI series AHHHH!!! Here it is:

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
Summary from: goodreads.com

In Book 6: City of Heavenly Fire, Jace, Clary and their friends are drawn inexorably into a war that pits Heaven against Hell, angels against demons—a war that threatens to destroy our world entirely if the Shadowhunters can't end it first.

(It doesn't look like this is the official cover...but it's all goodreads had so.......)

Spoiler alert highlight brackets.  {I really like the name because at the end of  City of Lost Souls you find out that Jace has Heavenly fire running through him so I think that will be important.]}

TEASER TUESDAY: City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

It's Teaser Tuesday!! YAY!! WOOOOOO!! (Happy Hunger Games!)

Today the teasers come from:

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5)City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
Summary from: goodreads.com

Jace is now a servant of evil, bound for all eternity to Sebastian. Only a small band of Shadowhunters believe he can be saved. To do this they must defy the Clave. And they must act without Clary. For Calry is playing a dangerous game utterly alone. The price of losing is not just her own life, but Jace's soul. Clary is willing to do anything for Jace, but can she still trust him? Or is he truly lost? What price is too high to pay, even for love?

............................................................................................................................

Here are a couple quotes!

~~~~~~~~~
"I will have you know I practiced that speech. In front of a mirror before you got here."
"So what do you think it meant?"
"I'm not sure," Jace admitted, "but I know I look damn good delivering it."
~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~
"What's wrong, little sis? You look upset."
She could barely catch her breath. "Cracked...my...nail polish slapping your... worthless face. See?" She showed him her finger - just one of them.
"Cute" He snorted."
~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~
"You stole a boat,” she snapped. “What am I doing with you, you boat-stealing lunatic?"
~~~~~~~~~

spoiler quote:

Highlight between the brackets for the spoiler
{ This was my favorite part of the book...when Jace came back.....*TEAR!!!!*

"Unhappy? I was lucky. So, so lucky. And I couldn’t see it.” His eyes met hers. “I love you,” he said. “And you make me happier than I ever thought I could be. And now that I know what it’s like to be someone else—to lose myself—I want my life back. My family. You. All of it.” His eyes darkened. “I want it back." }

and a quote just for good measure that might now make any sense but XD :

~~~~~~~~~
"Sed lex, dura lex"
Have a great week guys!
Random Question Monday: Teams & Not So Good DOUBLE FEATURE
Hey guys, this is Kait....and it's RANDOM QUESTION MONDAY. What's that? You ask? Well take a look here:
Random Question Monday is a weekly meme hosted by us here at 2 B Read. It is where you guys send in random questions and we answer. Submit your random questions here.
2 questions this week....(both from comments)
D.L.T. (Delaney)
Why do famous books always have teams?
Anonymous
What's a title of a book you REALLY love...but the book description doesn't sound as good?
....................................................................................................................................
Kait
Best questions yet! Here we go.
Q 1:
because it is a easy way to express which way you would like the love triangle to go. I think what makes people dislike "teams" is because it mainly started with Twilight....just because people have strong feelings against Twilight doesn't mean they should hate on "teams" I've heard people say "Stop saying 'I'm team ____ or team ____' This is NOT Twilight!!" but just because it's a Twilight thing (to originate from) it doesn't mean it can't be shared without. Some people disagree with there being say, a "Team Peeta or Team Gale" because it's not about the love triangle...which I completely agree with...but there still can be a choice. Say "I love Peeta and I hope Katniss chooses him, therefore I am 'Team Peeta'" Overall it's not something to be annoyed with if it's played somewhat lightly... (I understand the obsessive fans who want nothing to do with the book itself but just their teams...that's a whole other topic of discussion)
GREAT question by the way!
Q2:
Wolves, Boys and Other Things That Might Kill Me by
 Wolves, Boys and Other Things That Might Kill Me
This book sounds SOOOOO good....and the cover looks pretty good...The wolf, the girl with the hair flying and popped collar....Makes me wonder...
Wolves There you have it right there.....it explains itself...why? Because I LOVE wolves..... moving on.. BOYS well...now we've tossed in a good romance...always appealing. Other things that might KILL ME ooh...action....and now it makes me re-think the first two...now I'm saying "Werewolves!" and "oh...THAT kind of boy....even more interesting"
but instead....
~~~~~~
KJ Carson lives an outdoor lover’s dream. The only daughter of a fishing and wildlife guide, KJ can hold her own on the water or in the mountains near her hometown outside Yellowstone National Park. But when she meets the shaggy-haired, intensely appealing Virgil, KJ loses all self-possession. And she’s not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that they’re assigned to work together on a school newspaper article about the famous wolves of Yellowstone. As KJ spends time with Virgil, she also spends more time getting to know a part of her world that she always took for granted . . . and she begins to see herself and her town in a whole new light.
 ~~~~~
SCIENCE. S-C-I-E-N-C-E. No werewolves.  Nothing Paranormal. Just science...regualer old wolves. SCHOOL PROJECT....POOP. A nature reserve and a boring boring *yawn* ...I forgot what I was going to say......  and "she begins to see herself and her town in a whole new light." That kind of plot...at least the boy sounds promising..but not enough...
This is the kind of thing that makes me want to take the title...and run with it...write my own thrilling tale...completely opposite the real story.
something with Werewolves, boys, and other things that might kill her. I really really do.....
How about you guys? Anyone else know a book like this?
Hunger Games Discusions Saturdays: Favorite Scene
Hey it's Hunger Games Discusions Saturdays woah!IT'S A VERY SPECIAL SATURDAY TOO....why? because its: the day The Hunger Games comes out on DVD!
So here is an awesome Movie related question!!
Which scene is your favorite? (besides the cave scene :p)
.....................................................................................................................................
Mari
** Sorry guys...SPOILERS here**
When Rue dies, not because I enjoyed it but it was full of raw emotion and power and just UGH and I was sobbing and Kait was laughing at me!  UGH. But It was done beautifully and the whole scene including the lullaby and the tears. Oh my gosh.  Just perfect.
And then there was the part where Rue's father started an uprising and the whole thing is just so sad and perfect.
**END OF SPOILERS**
AHAHAHAHAHAHAH SOOOOOOO SADDDDDD!
...................................................................................................................................
Kait
My favorite scene would be the Reaping scene...because it screamed HUNGER GAMES to me, more than any part of the movie (which screamed pretty loud as well) and I felt like stepping into the book and watching it dance to life before me...and it was beautiful.
Oh and about what Mari said...I was not laughing at her like she makes it sound! But you should have seen her...she was falling apart right there in the movie theater. Her outburst included sobbing and leaning into Rach's shoulder...Then after the scene was over she STOOD UP and did the "Rue Respect" sign...as we call it....3 fingers
Love this thing.....Mari and I actually did it on a roller coaster for the picture...but that's beside the point...the point is that Mari was crying like Rue was her sister and she had just watched her die....So I laughed it off because people were starting to stare..and she was slipping into hysteria. I had my reasons.
Glad You Came SONG: Mortal Instruments Trilogy
The Wanted – Glad You Came
This song is one I think goes well with the books of the City of Bones series....I feel like it is Jace talking to Clary...
I could do a lyric by lyric version for you...but it mostly just repeats itself so I'll do the first part of the song, up until the chorus only.
Don't read this unless you have read the entire (City of Bones to City of Lost Souls) Mortal Instruments series
**Highlight between brackets to view spoilers**
{
The sun goes down
The stars come out - Jace says in City of Fallen Angels that Clary shouldn't think of the Morgenstern ring as a falling star...but a shooting star..(or something like that)
And all that counts
Is here and now - Jace thinks that since Clary is "his sister" he shouldn't want to be with her
My universe will never be the same
I'm glad you came - Jace LOVES Clary
You cast a spell on me, spell on me - The moment he saw her he fell in love with her and had to go find her
You hit me like the sky fell on me, fell on me - Clary and Jace both have angel blood...so they are somehow connected
And I decided you look well on me, well on me
So let's go somewhere no one else can see, you and me
Turn the lights out now
Now I'll take you by the hand
Hand you another drink
Drink it if you can
Can you spend a little time,
Time is slipping away,
Away from us so stay, - They can't really be together because something is drawing them apart...
Stay with me I can make, - They love each other anyways...even though in the beginning it was forbidden.
Make you glad you came    }
What's Tidbit Thursday? Well:
We tell you all about our fav's (music/books/books into movies) and you tell us yours. (this meme has kinda of evolved into a book question meme as well......)
My Trip to Barnes and Noble!!!!!!
So, Mari here and recently I took a trip to Barnes and Noble and here are some pictures with captions and so on here it is!
I started out and walked in I took a deep breath through my nose the smell of new books wafted around me and I was called in deeper and deeper into the store.  I immeadiately found what I always had to look at before even start browsing for books:
photo.JPG  AHHHHHH
Then I wandered into the Young Adult Section (Which is annoyingly called 'teen' section)  But I found three books that I wanted NOW:
Shatter Me
Delirium
Tigerlily
Which one was I to choose?  Now I had a solid reason to choose each of them:
Shatter Me:  I know it will be good Kaitlyn liked it; my brother preferred this one.
Delirium: Sounds REALLY good; Mom liked this one.
Tigerlily:  Such a sweet idea; Mom's favorite.
photo.JPG   Beautiful cover!!!
Then I went to the hunger games section and I found THIS beauty:
photo.JPG   AHHHHHH FIRE.
Ahh this gorgeus beauty that I share with  Kait:
photo.JPG
And finally I added this book to the choices:
photo.JPG
Now I know you are dying to know what book I chose so here it is:
Delirium (Delirium, #1)Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.
But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.
I really like the idea for this book and I'm excited to read it!
If you've read you can comment your opinion on the book!
